Tilden Road, Headcorn, is set to receive a new, one kilometre pipeline in Autumn 2024 to support the network as the community grows. The upgrade will ensure the community’s fresh drinking water keeps flowing without a drop in pressure.

Due to increased demand for water in Headcorn, we’re planning a £700,000 project to upgrade one kilometre of pipe in Tilden Road to ensure we can continue supplying high-quality water to meet the growing needs of the local community into the future.

The works are scheduled to start on Monday 9 September and are anticipated to take approximately four months to complete. The project will increase reliability of the water supply in the area.

To ensure the safety of the public and our workforce, Tilden Road will be closed between the Tattlebury Lane/Ulcombe Road junction and Little Poplar Farm for the duration of the works.

Tilden Road will still be accessible for businesses and residents, but there will be no access for through traffic. A diversion route, agreed with Kent Highways, will be clearly signposted to minimise the impact to traffic.

We are committed to delivering top quality drinking water to all our customers and this scheme ensures that we can do so.

This page will be updated with the progress of the work when appropriate.
