After leaving school, Masie didn’t want to be committed to three years of university but instead wanted to continue learning, while earning money.
The first vacancy she applied for was the Human Resources Learning and Development apprenticeship at South East Water.
Two years later Masie had gained her lower level Business Administration qualification and had decided she preferred the Human Resources side more than learning and development element.
This helped her secure a role as an assistant and South East Water supported her to study for her level five CIPD Human resources qualification progressing to level seven Diploma in Human Resources Management. Meanwhile she was promoted to an advisor which allowed her to put her learning into action and gain some experience.
Masie now works as a Human Resources business partner and without joining as an apprentice all that time ago, and she said she would have never got to where she is now.
Masie said: “In August, I will have worked for South East Water for eight years. I joined the business as a Human Resources Apprentice and was very fortunate to be supported by South East Water with my learning and development to be in the position I am today.
